Upon my return to the United States of New York I got a text from Rubino about going to one of the few remaining Circuit City's to look for some cheap camera stuff. There's a high level of joy to be taken in looking through the almost-wreckage of a hollowed out electronics store. The disheartening came in finding nothing but a D40 and a D60, both floor models, selling at 20% off. No flash units either, which is what I had been really looking forward to getting. Couldn't even get a cheap-o Sunpack flash. The camera section was quite barren. Luckily the game section was not. I walked out of there a hundred bucks lighter and a bunch of games heavier. Nothing really worthwhile though.
None of the games were anything I had been very excited about getting though, just fillers really. Like everyone else, I'm anticipating RE5 and Killzone 2 but there are very few recent or upcoming releases to get excited about. Oh wait. There was a Dead Rising 2 announcement and Lost Planet 2 announcemnet - Thanks Capcom, but I still won't get SFIV. I don't enjoy unyielding frustration.
Just saw this over on Kotaku and I immediately remembered when I first played it on a friend's Dreamcast. I've been meaning to play Virtual On over and over again since about ten years ago.
Good times were had. Hung out with family and cool people, some babies, a bit of mountains and rainforest, and a volcano or two. I'll be upping more and more photos to my flickr for the next few days. One casualty along the way. I think I have some crazy glue somewhere though.
Also, this made me happy:
Sunday. February the first, two thousand nine.
Inner thoughts: I will not punch right through the glass and take what I want. I will stand here and wait for my order. I will smile and say, "Have a nice day." as I exit the building. I will not run out of this store screaming at the top of my lungs, with my bloody fists full of liberated fish.
To the Tarantula with you.
